Peace and the Jewish Right to Self-Determination

Tricia Miller, Ph.D. and Dexter Van Zile

Dear Christian Leader,

Proponents  of an ever growing Christian peacemaking movement claim to seek an  amenable solution for the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. However, more  often than not, they effectively work against the cause for peace by  rejecting the right of Jews to self-determination in their ancient  homeland while advocating for that same right for Palestinians.

This  counterproductive double standard is the logical product of polemics  and libels incorporated into the peacemaking narrative, all of which  legitimize an intrenched Palestinian anti-Israel position and justify  Palestinian violence against Israeli citizens.

As  a result, Israeli efforts at self-defense are demonized, Israel's right  to exist as a sovereign Jewish State is delegitimized, and any  motivation to work for peace from the Palestinian side is eliminated.
